Straight punches are the most basic boxing hits. They occupy 50% - 80% of the total strokes performed by a boxer in the fight depending on his style and physical characteristics. The left direct (jab) also has approximately the same ratio in relation to the right.

  • The left jab (the right if it is a left-handed boxer) may not be the strongest hit of Boxers but it is by far the most and most versatile slavery in a race.
  • Being closer to the opponent, he counts the distance so that the other strong blows follow. It keeps him away, constantly taking time away from him to think clearly.
  • It costs little in energy and endurance compared to other blows. This gives the boxer time to practice his tactics and manage his strengths. It also momentarily reduces the opponent's field of vision.
  • The straight(the left if it is a left-handed boxer) is one of the strongest blows of boxers. The large body turn required to be performed together with the help of turning and pushing the feet to the ground gives an instantly explosive and powerful effect.
  • Be careful not to open the elbow to the right and up because it spoils the trajectory and greatly reduces the permeability of the blow while giving the opponent the message every time the blow comes.
  • It costs a lot of energy during the boxing match so the athlete should do it in moderation, having first measured the distance with the left marking it well so that it has a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
