Το uppercut it is perhaps the most difficult and technical of the basics boxing hits. It requires many years of systematic training and a coach with knowledge and appeal to the detail of the technique. Many Boxers they never manage to learn to perform properly uppercut or they just have the insecurity that they will not hit their opponent hard during the execution, so they rarely use it.

  • The main goal of the uppercut is the jaw, liver and diaphragm (solar plexus) and its technique changes considerably depending on the target.

  • The uppercut in the body aim not only to hit the opponent's body but also to make the opponent lower his hands resulting in openings in his defense. This can work the other way around as after a good combination of blows to the head there are larger openings for uppercut in the body

  • The time that the uppercut is performed by the boxer, he has to lower himself a little more than in his usual battle position. Thus, pressing hard on the canvas will start from the feet an explosive flow of mechanical force that will travel from the body of the athlete who performs it, to the body of the opposing boxer.

  • Transportation and movement with the torso and legs right-left creates openings and right angles through which the blows will pass.
