Several articles have been written listing the benefits of training in the sport of Boxing and comparison articles with other martial arts. None of this ever covered me. They have always remained on the surface and this is not a way to describe an art with such depth and quality. But is it the top fighting sport?

LEARN EVERYTHING ABOUT BOXING

  • The variety in boxing training

A boxer has to develop a very large number of skills. That's why his training is varied. This means that a good athlete will have to train at a very high level in other traditional sports. Long-distance running, speeds and bumpy mountain road. Weightlifting with many kilos, but also explosions with a few. Instrumental gymnastics with single, double and multi-balance. Swimming, sports such as football, basketball, handball etc. Even cross-fit cross-training before it became fashionable was an integral part of a boxer's workout. All this is part of the general physical preparation, ie the training that does not contain boxing.

  • Boxing training

This part includes the special physical preparation that is done with bags, targets, pears but also training with an opponent. The skills that are developed are the coordination of the body and its position in space and time (specificity & kinesthetic ability), reflexes, balance and rhythm. Also, the trainee's perception, composure, along with the ability to act strategically are elements that are trained daily. He will be called upon to apply all these in the most adverse conditions. When the shoulders burn, the legs are heavier than stones, the pulses have exceeded two hundred and the pressure of the opponent has hit red. Maintaining all these skills in such conditions is in itself a special goal in training and a special challenge for everyone, even if he is only involved in sports as an amateur.

  • The mirror called the Ring

Inside the ring the boxer is alone. The feeling of this deafening loneliness is unprecedented for most. His only support is some voices that he hears in the background of the mind, as his concentration is 100% on the opponent in order to survive. This is where the huge challenge of managing these helpless emotions comes in handy. Essentially what is presented at that moment is itself in the form of emotions. No, not all boxers experience the same, only similar and not all manage the same way. The boxing ring, then, is the scene where the revelations of our soul are made. The conscience, the fighting spirit, the degree of responsibility, but also the correct guidance of the coach will put before his responsibilities the boxer who wants to develop. Of course, the reality is that from the very first revelations, in the ring of the school, the discarding begins between those who want to try in this hard pedagogical and psychedelic process and those who give up not being able to bear the naked view of themselves.

  • Life lessons through boxing

Entering the fight, in the attempt of one boxer to defeat the other, he must stand up, accept and reciprocate with brave blows, without having a way to avoid the battle or the luxury of losing his temper. These elements that make an athlete go beyond his human limits, he sharpens them daily in training and in all kinds of preparations. The evolving boxer is also a man who can not hide behind his finger. The course he will have is directly related to his own management of the advantages and disadvantages he has and he is fully responsible for the successes and failures that accompany him. In short, a miniature of life in a few years of sports with many messages and lessons.

  • What is boxing after all?

Boxing as I have written before is: "a way of life, it is an expression of character, it is a competitive thinking and breaking boundaries. It is a daily duel with an opponent, but with our main opponent being ourselves and our emotions. It is victory and defeat, it is tension but also relaxation, it is speed but also deceleration, it is a dynamic attack but also a strategic retreat.
"Boxing is rhythm, music and dance in the ears of dynamic people who are struggling to overcome themselves, their human insecurities in order to become better boxers but as a result to become better people!"

  • Boxing | The Queen of Martial Arts!

The fullness that distinguishes this sport is rare and few sports can be compared to it. It is characterized by a balance between the individual elements that make it up. The boxer must train in such a way that he does not lose his temper in any of the areas in which he trains. Along with practicing in the body, he also practices the spirit, in a way that is directly useful for his life.

The sport of boxing is not for everyone. Few can understand it because of the quality depth. But even fewer will cope. Not because of her physically but mentally harsh nature. Schools are now welcoming to all people regardless of gender, age or individual physical characteristics. All a person has to ask before crossing the threshold of a boxing school is "Am I ready to face myself?
